E-biking & Hiking around Agnes Water & 1770 🚴 πŸ₯Ύ πŸ¦‹ 🌊 🏊 🚍

Wednesday, May 22:

I ate my yogurt with raspberries & muesli for breakfast, made toast with avo and cheese, and sliced carrot sticks for lunch. Then I walked down to pick up the e-bike rental I had hired for the day from this fancy bike rental shop 😁.

From there I rode up to walk the Discovery Trail and stopped at the Visitor’s Center to get a trail map.

Workman’s Beach

Looking back at Agnes Water Main Beach,

where I walked yesterday

Agnes Water is the northernmost surfing beach

on the Australian Coast

A variety of different  butterflies flying around the trail

Then I rode down for a little look at Agnes Water Main Beach again before taking Captain Cook Drive all the way (about 5 km) to the town of 1770. I walked and rode the e-bike to the Joseph Banks Conservation Park (also known as The Butterfly Walk), Captain Cook’s Landing Memorial, and the 1770 Headland lookout.

They say the tour on this pink amphibious vehicle is amazing

Good thing I ended up doing my Great Barrier Reef tour on Tuesday, because they canceled the Wednesday tour. Here’s the boat parked at the Marina

A lovely boardwalk for walking or riding

Kayak rentals at 1770 Foreshore

The roots of these trees fascinate me

I got worn out, sweaty, hungry, and thirsty, so I just sat down here to eat my lunch

The James Cook Memorial

A beautiful ocean view neighborhood

Views from the headland lookouts:

Very windy on this side!

Of all the beautiful houses I saw, this one was the best

I made the long ride back to Agnes Water. (I’m so glad I rented the electric bike!) And I went down to the beach for a swim, probably my last one in Australia.

They have lifeguards on weekends & Wednesdays

A unique thing I have only seen in Agnes Water is that they paint telephone poles.

I returned the bike and went “home” to shower and get packed up to catch the 9:15 Greyhound bus back to Brisbane.

Another beautiful Agnes Water sunset
