Australia: Kurnell to Wamberal to Forster πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί 🚐 πŸš™ πŸ–️

G'day, Mate!

Thursday, May 2:

More Australian wildlife! This one was just inside the door of my backyard office/lodging

on Wednesday night. I put it back outside before going to bed!

Around 10 a.m. Shelley and I left to drive to Bec Brown’s home in Wamberal, about 2.5 hours away.

Another interesting and scenic drive!

A distant glimpse of Sydney

Passing the Sydney airport

Many lakes along this route

Bec’s backyard!

With an ocean view in the distance

The room I stayed in, with its own toilet (aka bathroom)

I felt at home when I saw this sticker on her van!

When I arrived at Bec’s, I immediately had to excuse myself to log on to the CS831 Advisory Board meeting on Google Meet. It was nice to see and talk to all the mates from Santa Cruz!

Later, Bec & I went grocery shopping, and I got to see some of the town of Wamberal.

This Cockatoo was in the Grocery Store (or Supa) car park (aka parking lot)

Bec’s daughter-in-law Gabby and her friend and next-door neighbor Cath joined us for dinner.

Friday, May 3:

Bec, Cath, Gabby, and I went for coffee in the morning. This place was pretty cool: a surf shop/coffee shop/cafe!

I ordered a cappuccino and a Nutella toastie

I came home and got packed up, and then Beth drove me to Blueys, where we met Tiana Young,

who drove me to her place in Forster.

In the “toilet” at the Petrol Station where we stopped along the way

A small town we passed

Lots of forested hills

And more beautiful lakes (This one reminded me of Lake Tahoe)

Arrived at Blueys

Yes, a supermarket can be called a Supa Mart, or just a Supa!

Tiana is 23 and lives with her two adult brothers, one of whom is married and has a 3-month-old baby, Bethany.

They also have a dog, Buddy.

The Youngs’ house, known as the CS Drop-in House

Tiana took me out to get fish & chips for lunch and for a tour of the beaches and surf breaks.
