Leaving Tomorrow! ✈️ 🇨🇱 (April 1)

Image
Hi! 🦋 Please pray for the health and safety of all 15 members of our Christian Surfers United States Surf & Serve team as we travel from various places across the country to Los Angeles, and then travel together to Santiago, Chile and Pichilemu, Chile. And pray for all of God's purposes to be accomplished on this journey! Cheyne & Solveig Jobbins, CSUS Staff & Team Leaders I will leave home at 6:30 a.m. and drive to Silas's house San Jose, where I will drop off Ruby Sunshine (my dog) and her stuff and leave my car. Then Silas will take me to the airport, where I need to arrive by 8:20 a.m. for my 10:20 a.m. flight to Los Angeles. The plane for Santiago, Chile leaves at 4:05 p.m. Some of the members of the team at our last Zoom Planning Meeting. Thanks for your prayers! Traveling Tammy 🦋

Who is going to take care of Ruby Sunshine 🦮?

If you have seen me lately, you know my new constant companion, Ruby Sunshine ☀️, the beautiful red-nosed pitbull I adopted on October 24, 2023. I would love to have her with me on this trip, but that is not reasonable. She will be staying with my son Silas and his housemate Tony (friends since they were in Middle School at Monte Vista Christian) in San Jose. Their landlord graciously postponed building an auxiliary living unit in the backyard of their house because they’ll be caring for her until I return on May 28. She is a very sweet and well-natured dog who loves everybody, and Silas is one of her favorites!  Please pray that it goes well for all of them. I don’t want her to feel like she has been re-adopted. And pray for me! I was afraid I would miss her terribly when I traveled to Chile in December, but I did fine because I had the Fabulous Four (my kids Joy, Silas, and Asa and Joy’s husband Avi) to keep me company. I think I will be getting to know other dogs on my jo...

Surfistas Cristianos Pichilemu

Another goal for the Christian Surfers United States 2024 Surf & Serve team is to help strengthen the Pichilemu chapter of Christian Surfers. Representatives from CS chapters in other parts of Chile Christian Surfers Chile will be coming to meet with us while we are in Pichilemu to strategize ways to build up and reenergize this ministry in Pichilemu, which was very dear to Joe’s heart, and the primary reason we moved to Pichilemu. You can see comments and posts from Joe on their Facebook page:  Christian Surfers PiChilemu | Facebook

Mission Trip Update

Image
I will be flying alone from San Jose to Los Angeles on Monday, April 1, late morning. I will join the Christian Surfers United States Surf & Serve team of around 12 people in Los Angeles, and we will all fly together late that afternoon to Santiago on a direct flight. Two other women are going on the trip:  Solveig, the wife of Cheyne, the trip leader, and Mikayla, the leader of CS San Francisco. I know both of them already. Solveig & Cheyne will also be bringing her baby daughter Lou who was born in November 2023. Most of the team members have been to Pichilemu before, but only one other member is fluent in Spanish (besides me). The construction projects we will be working on include completing tiling, etc. in the locker rooms (work that last year’s Surf & Serve team began) and doing some building upstairs at the Pura Vida swimming pool and fitness center. Fitness and swimming are a major focus for Youth With A Mission Pichilemu . They have a lovely “indoor” pool where...
